In a good way, I mean. Let’s tell a tale in pictures shall we?
So this came via ups today.
I recently got a sample pack of Red River photo papers. The polar pearl metallic was especially interesting to me bc so much of my work has metallic inks and paints in it.
So I printed up some samples and whoa. It totally works and gives any negative space a sort of ghostly glow.
It’s hard to make it translate in photos but:
The only way to explain it is that the silver looks silver and the shiny looks shiny. See the blue in the nips and lips on the left? It’s a metallic sakura gellyroll pen. In a standard print, satin or glossy, it just looks vividly like that blue. This is a close up of how it looks on the metallic paper:
Still doesn’t pop like it does in person, but the point comes across I think.
I’m going to be selecting 3 or 4 pieces to do some limited edition 8×10 prints with this paper, so stay tuned for another shop update soon!
